15-8 Combine Voicing Variations
Combining Variations You can combine different voicing combinations to create longer phrases that are rhythmically symmetrical (between the first and second half of a 4 pulse phrase) but suggest the shape of something more asymmetrical. Combining 2 variations gives you a 4 beat phrase in an AB format. You could use 3 or 4 variations to form an 8 beat pattern in an ABAC ABBC, or ABCA format.
